The International Center of Wine and Gastronomy has begun the preparations to the planned holding of the Russian gastronomy week in Cyprus in November, 2017. The Week will be hold with the support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Cyprus.
The Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Cyprus, represented by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador Mr. S. Osadchy has expressed their readiness to support the conduct of the Russian gastronomy week in Cyprus in the period from 14 to 19 November, 2017.
The official ceremony on announcement of results of the competition “Taste Experience – 2016” was hold at the 24th International Exhibition PRODEXPO on the 8th of February.
Within the framework of the business part of the event the director general of the International Center of Wine and Gastronomy Elena Baybakova presented the project “Russian gastronomy week”. Elena also announced the Russian gastronomy week in Cyprus 2017, which will be hold with the support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Cyprus, Federal Agency for Tourism (Rostourism), and the official representative office of the Rossotrudnichestvo in Cyprus (Russian Center for Science and Culture (RCSC)in the period from 14 till 19 of November.
The organizing committee of the Russian gastronomy week in Cyprus concluded an official agreement with the Cyprus Four Seasons Hotel Limassol.
The prestigious five-star Four Seasons, owned by Muskita Hotels Ltd., is located on the picturesque shores of the Mediterranean sea, 60 km from Larnaca airport.
The Hotel is famous for the highest service level offered to its guests: the hotel’s meeting rooms for business and cultural events are equipped with the latest technology, and cosy restaurants and cafes are the real paradise for gourmets. Besides the luxurious rooms, where not only Russian and Western celebrities, but also representatives of Royal families stayed, the hotel also offers spa-center Shiseido, one of the few in the world.
During 13th-17th of November within Russian gastronomy week-2017 the chefs from different Russian regions will perform gastronomic dinners and master classes in Four Seasons, beside that the Russian exhibition of gastronomic routes, tourism, food and beverage producers will be held here at this time.

On the 17th of May 2017 in the Council hall of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation under the chairmanship of Elena Sutormina, a member of the Commission on development of public diplomacy and support of compatriots abroad, a round table on the theme «Gastronomy tourism as factor
of development of inbound and domestic tourism in Russia» was held.
The round table participants discussed the problems of modern tourism and made suggestions for its development, the speakers presented their prospective projects. The discussion table managed to gather the leaders of authoritative associations in the hospitality industry, representatives
of Universities, tourist companies, journalists.
The Chairman of the organizing Committee of the project «Russian gastronomy weeks» Leonid Gelibterman briefed the meeting participants with the results of Russian gastronomy weeks that were held in 2015 and 2016 in Spain. The President of the ICWAG told about the preparation to the Russian gastronomy week 2017 in Cyprus in the period from 13 to 17th of November, and also announced the performance of the Russian gastronomy week in the year 2018
in Japan and Greece.
Leonid Gelibterman focused the session guests’ attention, that the project plan of «Russian gastronomy week 2017» in Cyprus is supported by a number
of Federal ministries and departments of Russia and Cyprus, as well as the business communities of both countries.
The Chairman of the round table Elena Sutormina, in her turn, pointed out the readiness of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation to support intensively the projects for the development of gastronomic tourism, and noted the great importance of coordination of the professional efforts to implement international programs of such a scale.
The official digest of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) published an article by Leonid Gelibterman about the Russian gastronomy week project.
The president of the ICWAG, the UNWTO Affiliate Member, in his essay for the publication «The Second Global Report on Gastronomy Tourism» announced the main objectives for the development of gastronomy tourism in various countries and especially in the Russian Federation. According to Mr. Gelibterman, such goals include the establishment of national and regional gastronomic brands. «The brand, Russian Gastronomy Week, is a good example of such successful development", — he concluded.
In his article, the president of the ICWAG also talked about successfully held in 2015 and 2016 Russian Gastronomy Weeks in Spain, which were organized by the International Center of Wine and Gastronomy, with the active support of the UNWTO, the Russian Embassy in Spain, Rostourism and other authoritative organizations and agencies.
Leonid Gelibterman said that the Russian gastronomy week brand is a new format for the development of gastronomy tourism and an answer to the specific challenges of an extremely varied cuisine across an immense country.

The Russian qualifying round of the main competition of culinary art was held from the 23th to 24th of June at the venue of the international restaurants festival Taste of Moscow 2017 in the Luzhniki stadium.
Now the winner of the «Golden Bocuse» will represent Russia at the Bocuse d'or Europe in Turin (Italy) in 2018 and at the culinary competition with chefs from other European countries. Successful performance in the semi-final will provide the position to the Russian participant among 24 finalists from around the world in the fight for the first place.

October 12, 2017 at 11:00 am in Cyprus a press-conference devoted to the Russian Gastronomy week, which will be held in the cities of Nicosia and Limassol from 13 to 17 November this year, will take place. The Russian Gastronomy Week has started in sunny November Nicosia! The solemn opening ceremony of the gastronomic festival in Cyprus was attended by almost 200 guests at the Russian Cultural Centre in Nicosia.
The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Cyprus Stanislav Osadchiy, the President of the Cyprus state TV and radio-company RIK Thanasis Tsokkos, distribution director of the TUI Russia & CIS Ali Mikailov addressed their welcome speeches to the guests. Chairman of the organizing Committee of the Russian Gastronomy Week, President of the International Center of Wine and Gastronomy (www.icwag.com) Leonid Gelibterman introduced to the guests of the ceremony the Russian chefs’ team, who will cook dinners of the regional cuisine of the various Russian corners every day during the Russian Gastronomy Week. Chairman of the organizing Committee of the Week together with the President of the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia Igor Bukharov handed a gift chef's jacket, made for the President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Anastasiadis, to the head of the Presidential administration Michalis Sofokleous. The cultural program of the ceremony was adorned by Victor Zhalsanov from the Republic of Buryatia with traditional musical instruments and throat singing.
Guests of the ceremony were familiarized with colorful regional exhibition from the Vladimir region, the cities of Ulan-Ude and Yaroslavl. Exquisite buffet with original appetizers made by Russian chefs Anton Salnikov (Moscow) and Andrey Matiukha (the Krasnodar region) with wine accompaniment by the Abrau-Durso company became the gastronomic culmination of the ceremony.
The opening week ended with the prize drawing by the charity lottery organized by Together Forever fund.
Russian Gastronomy Week (www.rusgw.com) will continue until November 17, with the dinners of regional cuisine by the best chefs of Russia, the master-classes of the experts and the exhibitions of Russian regions.

On November 13 at the Vivaldi Restaurant of the Four Seasons Hotel Limassol the opening dinner of the Russian Gastronomy Weeks in Cyprus (www.facebook.com/events/1585525074860245/) was held. The winner of the Russian qualifying round of the «Bocuse d’Or» in 2017, the holder of the prestigious awards in Russian and international gastronomic competitions, eminent chef Andrey Matiukha from the Krasnodar region presented the Cuban cuisine at his authentic dinner.
The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Cyprus Stanislav Osadchiy, the Honorary Consul of Russia in Paphos and Limassol, representatives of the Cypriot and the Russian business as well as many journalists were the guests of the dinner.
The culinary delights were accompanied by the Cypriot wines and by the virtuoso pianist.

On 14th of November the gastronomic dinner of the Vladimir region was held at the restaurant of the Four Seasons Hotel Limassol. The gastronomic feast was prefaced by the regional exhibition, which demonstrated the tourist potential of the Little Golden Ring of the Vladimir Region and the events calendar of the region as a cultural capital of the FIFA World Cup 2018 to the guests. The guests of the exposition tasted a unique drink – five years matured Suzdal mead, which is produced in limited quantities, around 2 000 bottles a year. The drink, restored by the old recipes of the ancestries, was accompanied by the buckwheat chips with goat cheese, jam of cucumber and puffed buckwheat.

The dishes were accompanied by the Suzdal mead and Cypriot wines, and live piano music created remarkable atmosphere.
The dinner of Vladimir region delighted the guests with its distinctiveness, combined with an original presentation of dishes. Artem Loginov and the whole team of chefs that came to the guests at the end of the dinner, was greeted with a standing ovation, once again confirming their highest craftsmanship.
